Why this matters
A resume says what you did. A portfolio shows how you think.
Step 1: Pick your strongest bullets
Choose work that has a clear problem, user, project, result, or technical depth.
Step 2: Expand the context
For each bullet, answer:
- What was the problem?
- Who was affected?
- What did I build or contribute?
- What tradeoffs did I make?
- What changed because of the work?
Step 3: Add proof
Use screenshots, diagrams, links, metrics, testimonials, or short demos where possible.
Step 4: Add the interview story
Every portfolio project should help you answer interview questions. Add a short STAR version at the bottom.
Step 5: Publish and link everywhere
Add the portfolio to LinkedIn, GitHub, resume, email signature, and applications.
